Here's someone who generates their thumbnails with AI. Currently, AI generated thumbnails clearly lack the polish and careful branding that successful YouTube channels require, though they may suffice for small channels or for getting started, when speed is more important than money. But AI is useful for quickly generating elements, and then you can use Photoshop to composite them together and polish everything up.
